Terms of Service
Last updated August 20, 2026.
1. Who you are agreeing with
ErgIntz is operated by Martin Ahlberger, a private individual resident in Sweden. There is no company behind it. “We”, “us” and “ErgIntz” mean that person.
Contact: hello@tenelephants.app.
ErgIntz may one day be run by a company formed for the purpose. If that happens, this agreement transfers to that company, and we will say so on the site before it takes effect. What you have agreed to does not change — only who is on the other side of it. You may not transfer your own account to anyone else.
2. What ErgIntz is
ErgIntz designs and runs interval workouts on a Concept2 PM5 (RowErg, SkiErg or BikeErg). It has an iOS app and a website. It can sync your sessions to this service and, if you ask it to, push results to your Concept2 Logbook.
ErgIntz is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Concept2. “Concept2”, “PM5”, “RowErg”, “SkiErg” and “BikeErg” are Concept2's, used here only to say what equipment the app talks to.
3. Your account
- Signing in is optional. The app works for rowing without an account.
- Your account is your email address. You sign in by asking for a code, which we email you — tap the link or type the six digits. There is no password, so there is none to forget, reuse, or have stolen from us.
- Your Concept2 Logbook is a connection, not your account. Connecting one is optional, and it is what lets ErgIntz push your results to Concept2 — and from there to Garmin Connect or Strava.
- If you connect a Logbook, your use of it is governed by Concept2's own terms, not by this document. You can disconnect at any time; doing so does not close your ErgIntz account.
- Keep access to your email. Anyone who can read your inbox can sign in as you, because the code goes there. You can revoke individual devices in Settings.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
4. Age
You must be at least 13 to have an ErgIntz account. If you are under 13, please don't sign up, and ask a parent or guardian before using ErgIntz on somebody else's account. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will close it and delete what it holds.
5. Using ErgIntz
Don't:
- pretend to be someone else, or set up a club that passes itself off as an organisation you do not represent;
- upload anything you don't have the right to use, or anything unlawful, hateful or obscene;
- try to break, overload or get around the service's limits;
- use the service to collect other people's data beyond what the club features are for.
If you do, we may remove the content, freeze or archive the club, or close your account. See section 8.
6. Clubs
A club is a roster of people who share workouts and appear on each other's boards. Clubs are created and administered on the website; the iOS app shows clubs but never edits them.
Creating one. One person may own up to three clubs at a time. A club's name is 2–60 characters and may not use ErgIntz's or Concept2's names or product names — we refuse those automatically. Two clubs are allowed to share a name, deliberately: two towns can both have a “Roddklubben”, and people join with a code rather than by searching, so a shared name cannot send anyone to the wrong roster. A club deliberately trading on another's name is section 8's business. Creating a club gives you no right to a name.
Joining one. A club code lets you ask to join — it moves nobody onto a roster on its own; an admin decides. A personal invite is an admin's decision made in advance, and redeeming one joins you straight away. Joining a club is your consent to appear on that club's boards, as set out in section 9.
Running one. Club admins can share workouts, run series, approve and remove members, set the club's colour and picture, and see a log of what admins have done — all of which names members. Only the owner can hand the club on or archive it. Archiving takes a club out of circulation for its members and is reversible by asking us; it is not a deletion.
If you ask us to erase your personal data while you still own a club, we will refuse until the club has another owner. A club holds other people's data, and it is not yours alone to destroy.
7. Content you upload
Today the only thing you can upload is a club's picture.
- It stays yours. Uploading changes nothing about who owns it.
- You give us permission to show it. You grant ErgIntz a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, resize, crop, re-encode and display it as part of the service, for as long as the club exists. That is what it takes to put a crest on a badge; it is not a right to use your mark for anything else, and we will not.
- We change the file. A picture is cropped to a square from the centre, scaled to 256×256, flattened onto white if it has transparency, and re-saved as a PNG. The original is not kept.
- Formats and size. PNG or JPEG, up to 2 MB.
- You must have the right to use it. Only upload a picture your club owns or is allowed to use. That is your responsibility, not ours.
- We can remove it, with or without notice, if we believe it infringes someone's rights, breaks section 5, or is the subject of a credible complaint. We do not review pictures before they appear — nobody checks them.
- What happens to it. While the club is active the picture is served at a public web address with no sign-in required, so the app and the site can draw it. It stops being served when a club admin removes it, when the club is archived, or if we freeze the club — within about five minutes in each case, which is how long a browser may keep the last copy it fetched.
8. Reporting something, and what we will do
If a club, a name, a picture or a person on ErgIntz is a problem — impersonation, a logo you own, abuse — email hello@tenelephants.app. Tell us which club (a link is ideal), what the problem is, and how to reach you.
- We'll look at it. We can't promise how quickly — ErgIntz is one person, not a moderation team — and we may decide no action is needed.
- We may remove a picture, freeze a club, archive it, or close an account.
- We don't adjudicate between two clubs with a genuine dispute over a name. If it's a trademark matter between you, that's for you and them.
- We may act without telling the club first.
9. Leaderboards and what other people see
ErgIntz shows results next to names. This is the point of it, and it is on by default.
Your clubs. Joining a club is your consent to appear on its boards. Members of that club can see your display name and your position on the club's result boards, whether you turned up on its participation boards, and your name on the roster. Admins additionally see a log of admin actions, which names members.
Leaving a club does not take your past results off its boards. You are marked a former member. This is deliberate: a club's own history of a workout would otherwise change every time somebody left.
Public boards. ErgIntz publishes its own workouts that anyone can do. The first time you start one, the app tells you in as many words that your result will appear on a public board under your name, and where the switch is. That moment is recorded as your consent. Nothing you rowed before it counts.
Your switches live in Settings, on the web and in the app: show me on public leaderboards, show my results on my clubs' workout boards, show me on my clubs' turning-up boards. Two things worth knowing — the club switches cover every club you are in, there being no per-club setting, and turning one off hides you from yourself too, because a rank only you could see would be lying about where you stand.
Your own sessions and progress always remain visible to you.
10. Club plans and payment
ErgIntz is free to use. There is no paid tier for individuals and there never will be one.
Clubs have a member limit. A new club gets a 20-day trial with a high limit; after that, a club that has not paid keeps working with a smaller one. A club never loses anything by not paying — it is capped, not switched off.
No invoice has been issued and prices are not final. Nothing in ErgIntz charges anyone today.
When billing does start: club plans are bought and paid for on the website — the iOS app shows no prices, no upgrade prompts and no links to buy anything. Terms run six months at a time, aligned to the erg season rather than to when you signed up.
If a paid term ends, there is a 14-day grace period in which nothing changes. After that the club becomes read-only: nothing new can be started, added or joined, and everything already there stays intact and readable. Paying again restores it as it was. A club is never deleted for not paying.
Read-only takes effect from the moment we set it and not before. A session you rowed while the club was open still counts, even if it reaches the server afterwards. We do not retroactively void results. We may also make a club read-only for a billing dispute or a report under section 8.
11. What we don't promise
- No uptime guarantee and no support guarantee. It is one person's project. It may be down, slow, or broken.
- We do not guarantee your data is safe. We take reasonable care — the database is continuously replicated — but keep your own copies of anything you would mind losing.
- We do not guarantee accuracy. Pace, power, calories and heart rate come from your erg and your monitor.
- ErgIntz is not a medical or coaching service. Rowing hard is your decision and your risk. Talk to a doctor, not to an app.
- We may change or withdraw features, including club features.
12. Ending it
You can leave whenever you like — sign out, disconnect your Logbook, or delete the app.
To have your account and data erased, email hello@tenelephants.app. What an erasure destroys and what it deliberately keeps is set out in the Privacy Policy. Two things to know in advance: if you own a club we will refuse until you have transferred or wound it up, and some records survive with you removed from them — an audit entry, a workout you shared into a club, an accounting record.
We can end your access if you break these terms, or if ErgIntz shuts down. If it shuts down we will give what notice we reasonably can.
13. Liability
ErgIntz is provided free to individuals. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of data, loss of results, injury, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
For clubs paying for a plan, our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to what that club paid us in that period.
14. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. If a change matters — something that affects what you have agreed to, rather than a wording fix — we will say so on the site and email you, which we can do because your account is an address we have already verified.
Continuing to use ErgIntz after a change means you accept it. If you don't, section 12 is how you leave.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Swedish law.
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you may bring a claim in your own country's courts. Swedish consumers can also take a dispute to Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN).
If you are a club or other organisation, disputes go to the Swedish courts, with Stockholms tingsrätt as the court of first instance.
